Ronda clínica y epidemiológica: club de revistas

Resumen


En esta nueva edición de la Ronda Clínica y Epidemiológica, el lector podrá encontrar cuatro artículos que consideramos de especial interés para la práctica clínica actual. Myles et al., en un ensayo clínico multicéntrico, pragmático y aleatorizado, comparan el régimen de líquidos intravenosos restrictivo versus liberal en pacientes que son llevados a cirugía abdominal mayor, y evalúan la supervivencia libre de discapacidad a un año. Mørch et al., presentan una cohorte prospectiva danesa que evalúa la asociación entre el uso de anticoncepción hormonal y el riesgo de cáncer de mama invasivo. Por otro lado, Lazarus et al., por medio de un estudio de cohorte con base poblacional, buscan cuantificar la asociación entre el uso de metformina y hospitalización con acidosis, en relación con los rangos de la tasa de filtración glomerular estimada. Por último, Mountjoy et al., a través de un estudio de asignación aleatoria mendeliana, buscan esclarecer si la exposición a más años de educación causa un aumento en el riesgo de miopía o, por el contrario, el tener miopía causa un aumento en la probabilidad de tener más años de educación.
